Our mission statement

Since Hyde Park is a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic, multi-economic community, we believe the mission of Hyde Park Alliance Church is to be a diverse group of people who have as our authority the Bible, the living and written word of God. We exist to provide loving care and opportunities for worship and spiritual growth in the Christian faith so that believers may thrive while here in Hyde Park. We also exist to demonstrate and tell of God's miraculous power and love to our diverse community, which is filled with intellectual pride, economic unrest, racial hurt, and spiritual darkness. In addition, we exist to empower and train those whom God is sending to the ends of the earth so that they can make a positive impact for Jesus Christ.

Welcome to Hyde Park Alliance Church, an evangelical congregation of the Christian & Missionary Alliance in Chicago, currently led by Pastor Joseph Lam.  Hyde Park Alliance Church began meeting in January 1982 as a small fellowship, moving into our present location in a century-old Hyde Park mansion in May 1985.
What is the Christian and Missionary Alliance?

The C&MA was founded over a century ago as a missionary society in fraternal relationship with several churches from varied evangelical denominations.  Today it is a denomination of more than 2000 churches in the United States and Canada, and more than 13,000 worldwide, ministering in 51 countries.  Distinctive to the C&MA is its commitment to evangelism at home and through missionary activity abroad.  Per capita, the Alliance has more missionaries in the field than any other denomination.
